Kobelco Assessed for Green Industry Level 4 Certification

On January 23-24, 2025, Mr. Poryot Klankrong, Director-General of the Department of Industrial Works, assigned the Industrial Environment Technology Promotion Division, led by Mr. Kittinat Sopa, Senior Engineer and Chief Assessor, to conduct a Green Industry assessment at two factories of Kobelco Construction Machinery Southeast Asia Co., Ltd. in Rayong Province. The Tasith branch mainly assembles hydraulic excavators and also produces some components, while the Pluakdaeng branch manufactures crawler frame, attachments, and related parts. The assessment aimed to renew the company’s Green Industry Level 4: Green Culture certification.

Kobelco, a leader in hydraulic excavator manufacturing under the KOBELCO brand, integrates environmental and safety considerations into its processes. The company fosters a green culture through systematic P-D-C-A activities, waste segregation, energy conservation, and employee engagement initiatives such as KYT Morning Talks and Kaizen programs.

Assessors recommended reviewing carbon neutrality plans, waste management strategies, and CSR initiatives to enhance sustainability efforts. Innovative measures, including automatic screw tightening, energy-saving timers, and robotic welding, were highlighted as key improvements in resource efficiency.
